Using CART Facilities

OUTSIDE UNT USERS ─ including Industrial, University, or Government Labs

We have a number of methods possible for gaining access.  Please contact either David Diercks or Brian Gorman to discuss options. Information about specimens and information needed would be greatly appreciated.

 

UNT faculty, staff and students
If you have little or no prior experience with this equipment:


Option I.  (highly preferred)

Enroll in the class and laboratory covering the appropriate technique.



Option II.

  1. Independently study the theory and methodology of the technique using suggested texts and articles.
    AND
    Demonstrate basic knowledge and applications of the technique. An oral exam given by the equipment administrator is required.


  2. Become familiar with operation of the equipment through observing approved users and operating the equipment under the guidance of the equipment administrator.

  3. Successfully demonstrate equipment operation procedures in a test given by the manager of the equipment.
If you have extensive previous experience with this equipment or similar equipment, only step 3 is required following approval by the equipment administrator.



Option III. If you only need a couple of pieces of data, please contact either David Diercks or Brian Gorman to discuss options.
